Speaker: Prof. Rita MEN, University of Florida, USA
Rita Men, Ph.D., APR, is a Professor of Public Relations at the University of Florida. With a background in corporate communication research and consulting, Men’s research interests include social media, artificial intelligence and public relations, internal communication, leadership communication, and entrepreneurial communications. Men has published more than 100 articles in refereed journals and as book chapters. She is the (co-) author/editor of five books. Her work has been cited over 10,000 times with Google Scholar Citations h-index 45 and i10-index 71. Men has worked internationally with Alibaba Group, Inc., Ketchum, Inc., and provided management communication consulting for various multinational corporations, start-ups, and non-profit organizations.

 

Speaker: Lewis FUNG, Managing Director, SenseTime Hong Kong (商湯科技), Asia Business Group
Lewis is a distinguished technology executive and entrepreneur with a proven track record of over 27 years in driving business innovation and strategic growth, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud technologies. As the Managing Director of SenseTime Hong Kong, part of the Asia Business Group, he spearheads the company’s go-to-market strategies, operational efficiencies, and C-suite client relations, contributing significantly to SenseTime’s positioning as a leader in AI technologies.

The extensive background includes transformative roles in Fortune 500 companies and notable firms listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Before his tenure at SenseTime, Lewis excelled as the Service Director of APAC for Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

A firm believer in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to foster business transformation, Lewis has been instrumental in developing strategic partnerships, managing multimillion-dollar projects, and leading product development initiatives that have consistently placed product portfolios at the pinnacle of market share, as reported by IDC.

With a profound ability to transform business needs into innovative technology solutions, remains committed to optimizing processes, exceeding objectives, and surpassing customer expectations through dynamic, people-focused leadership.

Lewis holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hon.) in Industry and Finance and a Master of Data Science, underpinning his expertise in finance and data-driven decision-making.

 

About the workshop:
This workshop is intended to provide hands-on experiences to rethink digital engagement in existing PR practices and digital applications (e.g., augmented reality, artificial intelligence) in recent challenging PR areas. It will focus on discussing the effectiveness of digital engagement in PR practices for marketing communication and other purposes in the ever-changing experiential-based context.

Hands-on practice of an AR event management app designed by the project team (Language: Cantonese, supplemented with English)
